As a PlayRight associate you can! We concisely\nlist all the benefits and how you can quickly become an associate!<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As the collecting society for the neighbouring rights\nof performing artists, PlayRight collects, manages and distributes your rights,\nbut we also defend your interests and, therefore, your revenues. However,\nPlayRight does not only commit itself to the affiliated performing artists;\nthose same performing artists form the beating heart of our collecting society.\nIndeed, PlayRight is there <strong>for artists<\/strong>,\nbut also <strong>by artists<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not only can you become a <strong>PlayRight member<\/strong> as performing artist, you can also become an\nassociate, that is, if you are able to proof that you have contributed to at\nleast three recordings that have been commercialised and\/or broadcast (unless\nyou have already declared your repertoire).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What\nare the benefits of being an associate?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As artists, we&rsquo;re all in the same boat. That is why it\nis so important that we should unite, so that we can make our collective voices\nheard and set things in motion. Only this way we can fully defend our rights.\nTogether we stand strong!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As an associate you are committed to your collecting\nsociety and defending your rights. In other words, you are at the helm of our\norganisation. And that brings a lot of benefits. As an associate:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>you play an active role within PlayRight by <strong>introducing ideas<\/strong> and <strong>making decisions<\/strong> yourself;<\/li><li>you can first-hand follow all the <strong>latest developments<\/strong>;<\/li><li>you gain an insight into <strong>how rights are collected and distributed<\/strong>;<\/li><li>you are allowed to participate in the <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (s&rsquo;ouvre dans un nouvel onglet)\" href=\"https:\/\/playright.be\/en\/playright-general-assembly-2020\/\" target=\"_blank\">General Assembly<\/a><\/strong>;<\/li><li>you may <strong>appoint the directors<\/strong> of the group to which you belong (Music or Dramatic Art and Dance, depending on your main activity);<\/li><li>you have the opportunity to express your opinion and vote on proposed changes to the Statutes and the <strong>General Regulations;<\/strong><\/li><li>you can apply to become a director yourself and sit in the <strong>PlayRight <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (s&rsquo;ouvre dans un nouvel onglet)\" href=\"https:\/\/playright.be\/en\/the-board\/\" target=\"_blank\">Board of Directors<\/a><\/strong> (during the next <a href=\"https:\/\/playright.be\/en\/the-general-assembly\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (s&rsquo;ouvre dans un nouvel onglet)\">General Assembly<\/a>). <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>OK, I&rsquo;m\nconvinced. But how do I become an associate?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>\nIn five simple steps you can now become a PlayRight associate. The only\ncondition is that you are a <strong>performing\nartist<\/strong> (musician, actor, dancer, variety or circus artist) and have\nparticipated in the execution of at least three recording.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Not a&nbsp;PlayRight&nbsp;member yet? Firstly, join as a&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/playright.be\/en\/become-a-member\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>member&nbsp;<\/strong><\/a>and sign the&nbsp;<strong>membership form<\/strong>, which you then send to&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"mailto:affiliation@playright.be\" target=\"_blank\">affiliation@playright.be.<\/a>&nbsp;If you are already affiliated, then you can      skip this first step.<\/li><li>Make sure to verify whether you have yet&nbsp;<strong>participated in at least three recordings&nbsp;<\/strong>that generate neighbouring rights according to the law.<\/li><li>Submit your&nbsp;<strong>application&nbsp;<\/strong>to become a <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (s&rsquo;ouvre dans un nouvel onglet)\" href=\"https:\/\/playright.be\/en\/how-to-become-a-playright-shareholder\/\" target=\"_blank\">shareholder<\/a> through your&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/portal.playright.be\/CA_Portal\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>online portal<\/strong><\/a>. Log in, go to &ldquo;Details&rdquo; (left column) and click on &ldquo;Shareholder&rdquo;(upper right).&nbsp;<\/li><li>Once your Account Manager confirms that you meet the requirements, you will receive a communication to invite you to pay      the <strong>one-off share of&nbsp;49.57&euro;.<\/strong><\/li><li>Please do so&nbsp;<strong>before the deadline: 6 June 2020 <\/strong>so you&rsquo;ll be allowed to come to the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (s&rsquo;ouvre dans un nouvel onglet)\" href=\"https:\/\/playright.be\/en\/the-general-assembly\/\" target=\"_blank\">General Assembly<\/a> in September 2020!<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Together,\nlet&rsquo;s defend your rights, so you can receive a fair compensation for the use of\nyour repertoire.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Would you like to play an active role within your collecting society and help decide on your rights and revenues?
