PlayRight deadlines & distribution calendar: don’t miss out on any royalties!

October 17 2025

As an artist or musician in Belgium, you don’t want to miss out on a single penny of neighbouring rights. That’s why it’s crucial for you to submit your declarations on time, and get familiar with the PlayRight distribution calendar

In this article, you will find out when you’ll need to declare your performances and when PlayRight will make its payments to you

Deadlines for submitting declarations

For each reference year, PlayRight determines the deadline for declaring your musical and audiovisual performances in order to be eligible for payment.

The current deadline is:

  • 🕐 Until 31 December 2025
    • you can still declare performances from the reference year 2022 (for both music and audiovisual works).
    • You can also declare audiovisual performances from the reference years 2015–2022 in the context of cable rights.

👉 Tip: check in your PlayRight account whether all your performances, recordings or broadcasts from those years have been entered correctly. Too late is too late — after the deadline, PlayRight can no longer include these performances in the distribution.

What is PlayRight’s distribution calendar?

The distribution calendar shows when PlayRight pays out neighbouring rights revenues to artists and performers.

Each type of right (music, audiovisual, supplementary, foreign, etc.) has its own payment date.

The calendar helps you know when to expect a distribution — useful for your financial planning.

💡 Final distribution definitively closes the payments for that specific reference year.

Why these deadlines are important

  • You retain your right to payment: if you are late with your declaration, you lose that right for that year.
  • You can plan better: thanks to the calendar, you know exactly when your income will arrive.
  • Your administration stays in order: entering your performances regularly prevents last-minute stress at the end of the year.

Practical tips for artists and performers

  1. Note the deadlines in your digital calendar (e.g. 31/12/2025).
  2. Check every quarter that your new performances have been entered correctly in your PlayRight profile.
  3. Keep supporting documents (such as contracts or broadcasts) for possible verification.
  4. Check the distribution calendar annually — the dates may change from year to year.

Conclusion: be on time and stay informed

The PlayRight distribution calendar is your best guide to knowing when your royalties will be paid.

By reporting your performances in good time before 31 December 2025, you can be sure of receiving a correct and complete payment.
