Goodbye Brigitte, welcome new colleagues Mark and Sam!

July 4 2024

A lot has changed at PlayRight the past few months. In April, we said goodbye to Brigitte Verbruggen, who was an Account Manager at PlayRight for thirteen years. She is now enjoying a well-earned retirement. But PlayRight also grew and gained two new colleagues: our Finance Manager Mark Mahieu and Account Manager Sam Jaspers!

After thirteen years at PlayRight, Brigitte Verbruggen retired. She worked with us as Account Manager with great dedication and passion for her artists. With her in-depth knowledge of the music industry and her commitment, she was an important part of PlayRight. And that was appreciated: one of her artists even invited her to dinner once to thank her for all her help! Brigitte’s motto was therefore: “Everything for the artists.” We wish Brigitte a well-deserved retirement and thank her for her work with us.

In addition, two new people joined PlayRight: Mark Mahieu started in May and Sam Jaspers in June.

Mark Mahieu is starting at PlayRight as Finance Manager. He has always been fascinated by everything to do with numbers and finance and now combines accounting with his other passion: culture. In his spare time, Mark likes to go to concerts or plan movie nights with his friends. He also enjoys spending time with his family.

Sam Jaspers

Sam Jaspers joins the team of account managers and will focus specifically on music. This makes sense: he has always been passionate about music and was one of the founders of Ultratop in 1995, where he built the official Belgian hit parade into a well-known brand for 26 years. He also ran the Belgian airplay measurements of Nielsen and Radiomonitor for all those years and programmed digital channels for Stingray, focusing on Belpop and French music. He wrote columns, judged music competitions and acted as a music specialist in the media. After 25 years, he received the MIA Lifetime Achievement Award. At home, Sam is constantly discovering music, compiling playlists, reading about music and writing blogs. He enjoys concerts and outings with friends and family. In his hometown of Mechelen, he is involved in city and cultural activities. After years of working with PlayRight, Sam is excited to now be part of the organisation and help artists with their neighbouring rights.
