The first distribution of exclusive rights for broadcasting on RTBF is completed! PlayRight has distributed a total of €439,095.57 in rights coming from RTBF (co-)productions broadcast on their television channels between 1996 and 2020. An additional distribution will take place at the end of 2023.

This year, PlayRight reached an agreement with RTBF to transfer the rights of those recordings to us. So far, no exclusive rights had yet been distributed for the period 1996-2020. Thanks to our efficient system of distributing the rights to the performing artists, we were able to make that go smoothly this time too.

The first distribution has been completed. We distributed a total of €439,095.57 for the period 1996-2020. This distribution is based on the indicated repertoires, as processed in our database.

TIP:

Via the PlayRight portal, you can find more details about this distribution in the “Rights” menu, for example:

• Which recordings generated rights between 1996 and 2020 at RTBF;
• The casting at the time of the calculation.

MISSED THE DEADLINE?

Did you miss the deadline for the first distribution? No worries: you will get two more chances. The additional distribution happens at the end of 2023 and the final distribution is in 2025.

Ensure right now that your rights will be distributed to you by declaring your repertoire via the PlayRight portal. To make sure the declaration goes smoothly, we have drawn up a specific playlist of programmes broadcast on RTBF television channels between 1996 and 2020. You can find those on the portal or under this link.

1. Go to the portal. In the menu, choose “PlayList”.
2. Depending on the performance you want to indicate, choose the tab “Audiovisual, Dubbing and post-synchronisation” or “Music in audiovisual”.
3. Select “Exclusive rights RTBF 1996-2020” in the reference year at the top of the menu.
4. Complete your repertoire.
