PLAYLIST 2022 ONLINE : DECLARE NOW !

April 27 2023

You can now declare your music recordings and audiovisual works for the reference year 2022 via your online portal and save yourself a lot of time!

This is the first year that PlayRight has released both its  Music and Audiovisual playlists. Every year, we ask our affiliated artists (you) to declare their music recordings via their online portal- after which we can manage, calculate, and distribute their neighbouring rights . However, this year you will also be able to declare your audiovisual works (dubbing/Music in audiovisual) at the same time.

For Music

To calculate your music rights for the Belgian territory, PlayRight uses two distribution parameters:

  • The playlists of the Belgian radio stations
  • The Ultratop sales lists.

If you declare your performances now, specifically music broadcasts that have been used in 2022, you will receive your rights for those recordings during our first distribution for 2022 in October 2023.

How does it work ?

Declaring your music performances is a simple task:

  1. Log in to your online portal
  1. Click on the ‘Playlist’ tab in the menu. You will find  our playlists there, listed in order of reference year
  1. Declare your music performances as soon as possible

Deadline 2023

You have until 31/12/2023 to declare :

  • Your music performances for the reference year 2020

Once this deadline has passed, PlayRight will close the entitlements for that reference year.  If you have missed this deadline for submitting your declarations, your benefits will only continue to generate entitlements within the open reference years.

 →Declare now

What about my audiovisual works ?

The “Playlist” menu allows each member to declare  directly from the playlists for all open reference years, thus making it easier for you to declare your artistic contributions.

In order to calculate your rights for audiovisual recordings in Belgium, PlayRight uses the following distribution parameters:

  • The duration of the work
  • The time of broadcast
  • The market share of the channel

The playlists for our open reference years are  now available to our members via their portal.

How does it work ?

First, select the type of audiovisual performance that you want to declare by clicking on the desired tab: Audiovisual; dubbing & post-synchronization, or Audiovisual in Music.

Based on the reference year, the title and/or the season (in the case of a series), you can:

  • Declare a recording directly by clicking on Declare. A new window will open, and all you need to do is  fill in the mandatory fields, such as your role; the name of your character; the recording year. Once you have completed the required fields , click Validate to save your declaration.
  • Only for series
  • Declare all- or several- episodes of a series for a specific season at once. To do this, you must click on “declare series” . Again, you will be directed to a separate window, where you will be asked to fill in the  mandatory fields. If you have participated in all the episodes of a season, select ‘all episodes’ in the form. Otherwise, you can   indicate the number of episodes you have participated in during that specific season. Afterwards, click Validate to save your declaration.
  • Alternatively, you can declare a single episode: this option is recommended if your series is also broadcast abroad.

Deadline 2023

You have until 31/12/2023 to declare :

  • Your audiovisual performances for the reference year 2019

Once this deadline has passed, PlayRight will close the entitlements for that referenceyear. If you have missed this deadline for submitting your declarations, your benefits will only continue to generate entitlements within the open reference years.

 →Declare now

Finally, for your information, Article 16 of PlayRight’s General Regulations states that “Each Associate and Affiliate is required to individually report in the required manner, by mail or online, all of his or her performances incorporated into a sound or audiovisual recording, no later than June 30 of the year following the year in which the performances were provided.”
