Adami and Spedidam are the two collective management organisations that are appointed by the French governement to collect and distribute neighbouring rights in and outside of France.

This week, these two societies have signed an historic agreement with the purpose “to combine the two societies in order to facilitate and strengthen the management of neighbouring rights for  performers”. This is why Adami and Spedidam have founded the society “Société des Artistes Interprètes (SAI)” with the purpose to gradually join all collections, distributions and payments to national and international performers by the year 2020.

The agreement, signed last Monday the 17th of October, provides for a unique point of contact to collect neighbouring rights which will make SAI the principal partner for PlayRight to internationally exchange French neighbouring rights for its members. Another part of the agreement: the different sets of distribution rules will be related and implemented for all performers of both societies. Until recently, performers were obliged to make a choice between both societies in order to fulfill the managerial needs for their category of performances. Both societies operated with a dissimilar set of distribution rules.

This is an important step forward for performers. PlayRight is pleased with this agreement and looks forward to its implementation in 2020.
