New: Belgian Short Film Night! On August 5, platform Cosmos-Kosmos and the new film magazine Fantômas will present an evening with a selection of recent Belgian short films at Cinema Palace, Brussels. This project is supported by PlayRight+.

Cosmos-Kosmos.be is a bilingual platform for artistic projects in the making. Together with the new film magazine Fantômas, and supported by PlayRight+, the platform organises a short film night where a fantastic selection of recent Belgian films will be screened. The theme? Communication, or telling what is actually not transferable, and that via film. The banal touches the urgent. And always there is something at stake.

THE SHORT FILMS

Mono No Aware – Amina Hadji

Young women share their experiences and feelings. Right after listening to them, an actress performs these stories. The memories, both intimate and collective, merge, come to life and disappear just as quickly.

Monachopsis – Liesbet Van Loon

Debbie has a hard time bonding with others. She feels out of place. When someone finally gets through to her, she wants to keep that new friend to herself.

Holiday – Michiel Dhont

The family of 26-year-old Maurice organises a weekend getaway. The power relations between the generations seem to have faded, but is he willing to keep up appearances like the others?

So We Live – Rand Abou Fakher

A seemingly normal evening at a family’s place in a war zone. One moment it all looks very mundane, the next it’s all about survival.
