The latest news about PlayRight+ support in times of corona

September 6 2021

Next to the PlayRight+ emergency fund, PlayRight+ also supports past and future initiatives to boost the cultural sector that has been so badly affected by the corona crisis.

The results of the Fund Belgian Music’s second call for projects are here!

PlayRight+ is one of the founding members of the Fund Belgian Music, the support fund for Belgian musicians that was established in 2020. In collaboration with the King Baudouin Foundation, the Fund launched a second call for projects last June to provide as much financial support as possible to projects related to the recording of new music tracks. 126 files were submitted, representing a total application amount of almost 650,000€. After a careful analysis of each file, a jury of independent experts decided to support 52 diverse projects of all kinds for a total amount of more than 120,000€.

Among these projects, there is something for everyone in terms of music genres: Rock (alternative, Indie), Pop, Metal, Electronic, Hip-hop/Urban, Jazz, Folk, French and Dutch Chanson, World Music, classical,…

The list of supported artists includes both established, well-known artists and emerging talents: Black Mirrors, Lady Linn, The Lighthouse, Moody Mae, Yokan, Yung Mavu, Lucid Lucia, Glauque, Victoria+Jean, Témé Tan, Sttellla, Badi, CONDORE, Fleur Inverse,…

Thanks to the support of the Fund Belgian Music, these artists can once again start recording in the studio with peace of mind, and thus produce the music of tomorrow! The end result of these recording sessions? You’ll be able to listen to the produced tracks within a couple of months!

If you want to see the full list of supported projects, or if you’d like to make a donation to the Fund Belgian Music, so that the fund can provide even more support to the cultural sector during a third call for projects, do not hesitate to take a look at the official website: www.fundbelgianmusic.be.

PlayRight+ joins forces with the Fonds Norma Joossens to support actors and actresses who are struggling!

The Fonds Norma Joossens, managed by the King Baudouin Foundation, has as its main objective to help actors/actresses and comedians who do not have sufficient financial means to meet their needs at retirement age. Being strongly aware of the seriousness of the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on the industry, the fund has decided to allocate some of its resources to support ALL actors/actresses and comedians, regardless of their age. Following this opening up to the entire sector, PlayRight+ subsequently decided to financially support this call for projects, so as to help as many artists as possible!

In concrete terms, what does this mean? Well, this call for projects is now open to any actor/actress/comedian living in Belgium who can demonstrate that his/her work and professional activities have stopped or have enormously been reduced due to the corona crisis.

The initial budget of the call for projects is 50,000€. Per approved file, a single amount between 700€ and 1,500€ will be awarded.

If you wish to benefit from this fund, you must submit an application to the Union des Artistes/de Acteurspenning between Monday 13 September and Friday 12 November 2021.

Soon more information will be available on the website of the King Baudouin Foundation, the Union des Artistes de Spectacle and de Acteurspenning.
