APPLYING FOR PLAYRIGHT+ SUPPORT IN 5 STEPS

PlayRight+ is becoming bigger each year, our support for performing artists is expanding. With the renewed Commission PlayRight+ has come an update to the financial support that we offer to projects and organisations, as well.  Is your project/organisation eligible for support? And how can you apply? Follow these 5 steps!

The general principle for eligibility is that your organisation and/or project must promote the position of performing artists, or that it offers great added value to the artistic community.

In addition, PlayRight+ does not support projects of a purely individual nature, but it does support projects that defend the interests of the performing artists. This can be done in many different ways: by providing information about their rights, by helping artists to promote or internationalise their careers, by strengthening their socio-economic position in society, and so on.

What should you do to apply for support? You can already submit your request for support. Follow these easy steps below. Please note: we make a distinction between the functioning of organisations and associations on the one hand, and projects of an organisation/ association on the other hand. So first check which category you belong to.

Request for support from an organisation for a project

General conditions

First, check whether your project meets the regulations and conditions drawn up by the Commission PlayRight+. There are a lot of general conditions that need to be met, but the most important ones we list here. You must:

  • have legal personality;
  • be able to present a financial plan with budgeted costs & expected income;
  • correctly remunerate the independent artists and artistic technicians;
  • respect all rules regarding copyrights and neighbouring rights.

  • Fill in the registration form

Download the registration form (Dutch / French)  and fill it in as accurately and completely as possible. Then, send the form to plus@playright.be .

  • Fill in the official registration form

After we have received your registration form, we will send you the official registration form. The completed registration form must be accompanied by the documents and information requested therein. Send this official application again to plus@playright.be .If the application form is incomplete, PlayRight+ will notify you within 15 days after we have received the application. You then have 7 days to complete your file.

 Keep the deadlines in mind!

For projects there are two annual deadlines: 31 March and 30 September.
 

  • Assessment by the Commission PlayRight+

    Once the deadlines have passed and all official registration forms have been received, they will be analysed by the Commission PlayRight+. Afterwards, PlayRight+ will let you know within 7 working days whether your association or organisation will receive financial support.
  • Payment of the support

The financial support granted by PlayRight+ can amount to a maximum of 50% of the budget needed for your project.

The payout is made as follows:

  • First instalment = 80% à Paid out after the decision of the Commission PlayRight+;
  • Second instalment = 20% à Paid out after completion of the project and after the Executive Committee has determined that all conditions have been complied with.

Request for support from an organization for its operation

General conditions

First, check whether your association or organisation meets the regulations and conditions drawn up by the Commission PlayRight+. There are a lot of general conditions that need to be met, but the most important ones we list here. Your association/organisation:

  • has legal personality + its members = natural persons;
  • is representative in the discipline of music or dramatic arts;
  • does not engage in activities solely for the purpose of profit;
  • is able to present a financial plan including budgeted costs & expected income;
  • correctly remunerates the independent artists and artistic technicians;
  • respects all regulations regarding copyrights and neighbouring rights.

  • Fill in the registration form

Download the registration form (Dutch / French)  and fill it in as accurately and completely as possible. Then, send the form to plus@playright.be .

  • Fill in the official registration form

After we have received your registration form, we will send you the official registration form. The completed registration form must be accompanied by the documents and information requested therein. Send this official application again to plus@playright.be .If the application form is incomplete, PlayRight+ will notify you within 15 days after we have received the application. Keep the deadline in mind! For the functioning of organisations and associations, the annual deadline is 30 September of each odd-numbered year. Specifically, for support over the period 2024-2026 the deadline is 30 September 2023. For the period 2026-2028 it is 30 September 2025 and so on.

  • Assessment by the Commission PlayRight+

    Once the deadline has passed and all official registration forms have been received, they will be analysed by the Commission PlayRight+. Afterwards, PlayRight+ will let you know within 7 working days whether your association or organisation will receive financial support.

  • Payment of the support

The financial support granted by PlayRight+ can amount to a maximum of 50% of the budget that your organisation or association has drawn up.

The payout is made as follows:

  • First instalment = 30% à Paid out after the decision of the Commission PlayRight+;
  •  Second instalment = 30% à Paid out in January of the second year of operation;
  • Third instalment = 20% à Paid out during the period of operation and after the Executive Committee has determined that all conditions have been met;
  • Fourth instalment = 20% à Paid out upon completion of the operation and after the Executive Committee has determined that all conditions have been met.
