The equitable remuneration, the main source of income for the neighbouring rights of the musicians

The equitable remuneration is by far the main source of income from neighbouring rights that belong to music performers in Belgium.

The neighbouring rights distributed among musicians in Belgium are generated by four types of remunerations: the Equitable remuneration (70% on average), Private copying (25% on average), Rights collected abroad (4% on average), and the Lending right (0,2% on average). The income generated by the equitable remuneration is noticeably the highest.
