Emergency fund for performers

PlayRight+ launches an emergency fund to support its members during the coronavirus pandemic.

PlayRight’s board of directors has decided to create an emergency fund for its affiliated performers who are facing significant financial difficulties as we battle the coronavirus. The purpose of this fund is to partially compensate for the loss of income of activities as a performer caused by the pandemic.

PlayRight makes available a total amount of 360.000€ and each member fulfilling the conditions may request a support. These amount to a maximum of 250 € / month and can be requested for the months March, April, May, June, July, August, September and October 2020. We hope that for some this support can make a difference to get through this crisis.

You can find the rules for this aid-application on these pages (Dutch and French only):

How is the PlayRight+ emergency fund financed?

Belgian collective management organisations may use up to 10% of the rights they collect in Belgium for social, cultural or educational purposes.

For 2020, the Board of Directors already allocated 3% of the remunerations collected in Belgium to the operation of PlayRight+. Due to the crisis caused by the coronavirus and its consequences regarding the income of our artists, the Board of Directors has decided to allocate 2% extra to PlayRight+ to finance this emergency fund.
